A piece for the Boston Globe OP-ED page. Less than 24 hour turn around as usual for OP-ED. The article discusses the decline/benefits of free play. You can read it here. Big thanks to AD Jane Martin for the great assignment and giving me the opportunity to work with her.
Jane mentioned that she was looking for something without a definite edge and referenced my piece “Lost Dog”....
This was another fun one to do. It was for an article that is pretty similar to the one in the last post. It discusses how people around the world are “building useful and creative products out of what’s available to them.” So…people building giant bird out of scraps and random materials.

Here are some random bits of work from various things. I really just need to get into posting regularly. Expect that to happen when my scanner arrives! I’m going to be binge scanning. Here is some of the work from the show at Gallery Nucleus. We were asked to illustrate different idioms. These were the first paintings out of the sketchbook I had done in a year. It was definitely a...
This was a commission that I recently did. After a round of sketches the client decided that they wanted to go with a couple of China inspired landscapes. I did another round of sketches and these are three sketches from the group. They decided to go with the first two sketches in the color of the third. Here are the finals. I tried to keep them really simple, I wanted a grand yet serene feel...
Tiny tiny update. Gallery Nucleus did a little feature on me for the upcoming show Baker’s Dozen. Read it here. I’ll come back later with more about the pieces I did for the show. I’m also in the process of investing in a nice scanner so these iphone pictures will have to do for this update. Some sketchbook stuff from in the last 2 months.

Another thing I recently did for SooJin. This prompt for this was “Having a lot to consider/decipher through”. Again, thanks so much to SooJin! Sketch: Final:
Long time no blog update, so here is something I did a while ago. AD: SooJin Buzelli. My favorite pieces always end up being the ones I did for SooJin. Here it is in layout: http://www.pseuropedigital.com/pseurope/autumn2010#pg34 Sketch: Final:

Back to the blog
So graduation happened! I’m back at home (moving to New York soon). Thankfully i’ve been keeping busy working on different projects. This was one of them. Last month SooJin Buzelli called me and asked me to do the cover for the july issue of PLANSPONSOR. Well needless to say I was pretty excited about it. I looked through the last couple covers and came across the work of Chris...

I'm Almost a Real Person
Personal piece. I’m graduating soon (congrats to everyone who already did!) and there are a lot of things going on. It’s been super nice out lately and senioritis is at an all time high right now. However I keep telling myself to stay on course, stay focused and work straight through the distractions. So that’s what this is about. That said, I’m going outside to enjoy...

Reworked an old thing for an article about the “Last One Standing”. I might come back to this one later, but for now, I’m moving on to the next piece.
